September 2017 is our 40th anniversary in business and with 26 years in the embroidery industry. Through this time technology advances for both industrial and domestic sewing machines have come along way. We a still the number 1 shop in the local region for Husqvarna Viking and we have recently added Pfaff and Juki to our range of Janome and although we no longer sell Brother we more than welcome them into our store to be repaired and assist our customers in classes.
We started with humble beginnings in 1977 selling little known Italian Necchi domestic sewing machines in a Kingston shopping arcade and grew to what we are today, the largest full service sewing equipment supplier in Canberra and a major supplier to the embroidery industry both in Australia and in New Zealand.
We quickly moved on to represent Swedish Husqvarna domestic machines and Brother domestic and industrial sewing equipment in the Canberra region. In 1988 Sew Simple became the top domestic dealer for Husqvarna domestic sewing machines in Australia and started our interest in computerised embroidery.
In 1970 we established the distributorship for STtitchitizer Embroidery Design Software. The following year Toyota single head embroidery machines were added to expand into the embroidery machine industry. Many of customers were growing quickly and were looking for larger machines and so we added quality German ZSK multihead machines to the product line.
Today, Sew Simple has 160 plus software installations with over 350 Toyota single head embroidery machines in locations as far afield as Perth and Kalgoolie in Western Australia to Townsville in Queensland and Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea!! We now have close to 100 ZSK multi head machines in Australia with some customers now on their fifth machine.
When Toyota wound up the manufacturing of this great little Japanese machine that our customers have loved, ZSK developed the ZSK Sprint series single head at a competitive price for European ingenuity! This is not the only advancement of sewing technology that ZSK has developed.new carbon fibre technologies with, micro sensory, wire and nano tubing placement to the world of textiles there is so much you can now do with a sewing machine. With the advent of Carbon Fibre profile production, profiles can be stitched up to 8mm thick depending on thge application thus saving considerable time in component production.
Sew Simple has sales and service agents in most major states with quality distributors and staff trained to assist customers with sales and service to our products. Sew Simple is based in Canberra (we are not all politicians) and are close to our main markets for easy access. Drop in sometime when you visit our national capital and see the real work being done in Canberra!! THE TECHNOLOGY CAPITAL OF AUSTRALIA!!
