About Us
September 2017 was our 40th anniversary in business and with 26 years in the embroidery industry. Through this time technology advances for both industrial and domestic sewing machines have come along way.
We started with humble beginnings in 1977 selling little known Italian Necchi domestic sewing machines in Kingston ACT shopping arcade and grew to what we are today, the largest domestic full service sewing equipment supplier in Canberra and a major supplier to the embroidery industry both in Australia and in New Zealand.
In 1970 we established the distributorship for Stitchitizer Embroidery Design Software. The following year Toyota single head embroidery machines were added to expand into the embroidery machine industry. Many of customers were growing quickly and were looking for larger machines and so in 1991 we added quality German ZSK multihead machines to our products.
Today, Sew Simple has over 350 Toyota single head embroidery machines in locations as far afield as Perth and Kalgoolie in Western Australia to Townsville in Queensland and Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea!! We now have a significant amount of ZSK multi head machines in Australia with some customers now on their fifth or sixth machine and a growing number of new customers.
When Toyota wound up the manufacturing of this great little Japanese machine that our customers have loved, ZSK developed the ZSK Sprint series single head at a competitive price for European ingenuity!
This is not the only advancement of sewing technology that ZSK has developed. ZSK's Technical embroidery technologies with, micro sensory, wire and nano tubing placement to the world of textiles there is so much you can now do with a sewing machine. With the advent of Carbon Fibre profile production, profiles can be stitched up to 8mm thick depending on the application thus saving considerable time in component production.
In 2016 we moved into IT workflow to support the changing market conditions and needs of our customers by partnering with Smake IT's real workflow systems for the oceanic region this was then followed by entering a new market introducing the worlds fastest DTG machine on the market the Aeoon Kyo series in January 2019, with an installation in september of that year. Following some market research and responce we also took on Gunold embroidery threads and support products which was the last on the major 3 European manufactueres not to be supplied in Australia for more then 20 years.
Sew Simple has sales and service agents in most major states with quality distributors and staff trained to assist customers with sales and service to our products. Sew Simple is based in Canberra and are close to our main markets for easy access.
